A new European project started with focus on justice for children in contact processes and disputes for families, experiencing domestic violence

Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation is part of project consortium for implementation of European projectImproving Justice in Child Contact: Children affected by domestic violence” (IJCC) together with University of Edinburgh UK (leading partner), Scottish Women's Aid UK, Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies – Cyprus, Fundatia Centrul de Mediere si Securitate Comunitara – Romania, Centro de Estudos Para a Intervencao Social – Portugal, UMAR - União de Mulheres Alternativa e Resposta – Portugal.


The projectIJCC aims to improve the justice system so that children’s and women’s human rights are respected and for ensuring that children’s views are effectively included, and to ensure knowledge exchange. The project will unite the efforts to increase capacity of stakeholders and relevant professionals, through strengthened multi-agency cooperation, with the aim to improve access to justice and human rights for children and women and to reduce risk of re-victimisation. Expected results are: ensuring safety for women and children and promoting competent and fairer system; putting their needs at the centre and proper inclusion of children’s views.
